“Write these words on our hearts, we beseech thee, Oh Lord” are the words of a prayer response we sang in the church I attended as a child, and came to mind as I read the texts for this morning.  Jeremiah suggests something that feels fairly radical were it to be a physical inscription; maybe, though, our carrying God’s words in our hearts is an even stronger indelibility.  To what are we firmly, even permanently committed, and what is our response to that commitment?  I look forward to our sharing conversation regarding the difference in our lives God’s good news makes — for us and for others in our path.

In the midst of difficulties, how do we find our way forward?  While the answers to these questions are individual, there is much in our communal walk of faith that stems from the tradition we share.  Perhaps we may discuss together how it is that we grapple with the effect of life’s challenges from a position of faith in God’s love.

Mid-Week Service of Prayer & Meditation

Wednesdays @7:00pm via Zoom

This gathering is informal, a centering of the spirit and a quieting of the soul at the end of the day.  It is an opportunity for meditation, contemplation, and sharing.  Bring something meaningful to you if you’d like to share – a reading, a poem, a prayer, a bit of music.

Sunday Worship, March 7

What in this gift of life draws you into righteous anger?  How is it that we know righteousness when we think we see it?  Our scripture lesson from John can come as a surprise, and in its relatively shocking description of Jesus’ behavior in the temple, may lead our thoughts in a variety of directions.  In this season of Lent, one of our opportunities to turn around in behavior and to turn more fully toward God, we may be invited to have our own tables turned.  Come join us to know how we continue to be pushed and pulled into loving relationships by Jesus, even when it looks like anger.
