It is not another sermon about racism, immigration, gun violence, or #MeToo. I am tired of preaching them, and the Lord knows some of you are tired of hearing them. But this Sunday, May 27th, my sermon, “Encryption,” starts there, with the anxieties that dominate our national conversation, before moving into the Book of the Prophet Hosea, the first of eight “minor” prophets we will study in the next two months. Hosea is a prophet in a time of anxiety, but in the end, he is a prophet of hope and reconciliation, the servant of a loving and reconciling God. -Gary
