Sunday Worship November 23, 2025
Grace and peace to you, from God our Creator and the Lord Jesus Christ! With table fellowship at the heart of our “religious practices,” this weekend offers a lot of time for reflection on community spirit! This evening, some of us will gather with new members at 5:30 in order to discuss what connection to a faith community means to us, generally, and what our church means to us specifically. We also will talk about what our hopes and dreams for this faith community are and what role we may play in bringing that to fruition. Join us tomorrow morning to celebrate as we receive these new members into our full communion!
The lectionary scripture readings do not necessarily lead us to secular holidays and their remembrance, and in a time in which demands on our allegiance are remarkably fraught, we do well to remember our God’s call on our lives. We name only one king, Jesus, and to follow him asks that we reorder our lives in line with his teachings. So, as we gather in thanksgiving for all that we have, we also rejoice in the hope that God’s abundance will be revealed—even through us.
I look forward to continuing our table fellowship after worship tomorrow, when we gather for an abundant thanksgiving meal, thanks to Lisa Groo’s coordination and all of your cooking and baking! With our hearts lightened by worship music led by Clair Maxwell and Tina Dreisbach, and our Gallery Choir singing thankful praise, we begin the holiday season with joy!
Blessings and peace, Lisa
We offer worship in-person as well as on Zoom. Coffee & tea are available after the church service. Masks are not required in the church but are encouraged when singing hymns.
