Palm Sunday marks the beginning of what we call Holy Week, and we may find ourselves spending time wondering what it is that we do to set the time apart to make it “holy.” With the acclaim for Jesus marked on the day, we also look forward with the unique perspective of hindsight to know the quick shift from adoration to betrayal; the quick shift from gaiety to despair. Life is like that sometimes, and perhaps our yearning for the end of the pandemic has us wrestling with similarly conflicting emotions. The world is like this sometimes, and so we come together in worship– in praise and thanksgiving, and also to seek solace and hope. I invite you to bring this wealth of questions and answers, of hopes and concerns to our worship tomorrow, and also on Good Friday and Easter. Life is like this sometimes. . .
