This Sunday…Hope, Peace, Joy, and finally — Love! This is the fourth Sunday of Advent, when we recall with joy the promise of peace that gives us hope. All of this stems from the love of God for us and for all of God’s creation. As we anticipate the birth of Jesus into our lives again this Christmas, we remember the familiar stories with warmth and with good humor. How might sharing together in the mystery and the possibility for change, even for evolution and revolution that is incarnate in Christ’s birth, make this holiday season more deeply meaningful for each of us?
Our worship service will include a pageant to include our children, yes, but also adult participation, with all the familiar costumery to support the Gospel story. Familiar carols are sprinkled throughout the scenes, and we are invited yet again to receive the birth of Jesus and God’s plan for the world. Join us as we celebrate and prepare ourselves anew.
In our ongoing effort to keep everyone safe, we continue to ask that those who worship in-person are vaccinated and that each person wear a mask while they are inside the church building. Our choir has begun to sing with a few persons at a time, remaining masked to do so. Please know that we follow news of the development of the Covid virus carefully.
Love and peace to you all, Pastor Lisa
