Andy Revkin will be the featured performer at Dolly’s Coffeehouse at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, Saturday, September 7th 7:00-9:00pm. Andy is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who recently settled on the coast near Ellsworth after three decades of performing up and down the Hudson River Valley, including many gigs accompanying famed folk singer Pete Seeger. Some may know him for his 40 years of award-winning environmental journalism, mostly for The New York Times, but Andy’s songs have been widely heard and lauded, including on NPR’s Winter Songs series. In Jambands, Mainer Brian Robbins called his debut album “A Very Vine Line” a “tasty mix of roots goulash.” Learn more about Andy at https:/www.reverbnation.com/andyrevkin.
The first hour will be open mic, where anyone is welcome to perform: music, mime, poetry, dance, etc. Performers are asked to arrive a few minutes early to sign up. There will be a brief intermission with refreshments, followed by Andy Revkin.
Donations benefit the Dolly Fisher Emergency Fund, which provides emergency fuel, food, and utility help for households on the Blue Hill Peninsula and informing the public about other available resources. This fun evening is for all ages and will be held downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Admission is by free will offering. FMI: contact 374-2891.
