Sunday Worship, June 3

This Sunday, June 3rd, we come to the Lord’s Table in celebration. Our reading, the second in our series on the “minor” prophets, comes from the Book of the Prophet Joel. Gary’s sermon is titled “Götterdämmerung.” Our first Sunday collection will be breakfast cereal.

Sunday Worship, May 27

It is not another sermon about racism, immigration, gun violence, or #MeToo. I am tired of preaching them, and the Lord knows some of you are tired of hearing them. But this Sunday, May 27th, my sermon, “Encryption,” starts there, with the anxieties that dominate our national conversation, before moving into the Book of the Prophet Hosea, the first of eight “minor” prophets we will study in the next two months. Hosea is a prophet in a time of anxiety, but in the end, he is a prophet of hope and reconciliation, the servant of a loving and reconciling God.   -Gary

Sunday Worship, May 13

This Sunday, May 13th, we continue with Paul’s Epistle to the Philippians. Our reading includes what we believe to be the earliest Christian hymn. Gary’s sermon is titled “Hold My Beer.”
